Flavor and Flexibility Come Together in New JMH Manufacturing Center

April 2008 (Salt Lake City, Utah) With retail and foodservice customers rapidly innovating to meet the needs of today’s more sophisticated food consumer, JMH International LLC announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art flavor manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City for creating a wide range of soup bases, sauces, gravies, seasonings and dry blends.

“Our mission,” noted Kirk Mellecker, President of JMH, “is to add a new level of creativity, flexibility and responsiveness to the world of food bases. We’ve designed an efficient, multi-faceted facility with a goal of better meeting our customers’ need for rapid product development.”

Featuring the latest in blending and cooking technology, the company has created various production lines, scaled to efficiently run either large-batch, full-shift products or smaller-batch specialty items. This flexibility will allow JMH to serve a broader range of customer core product needs and to meet the growing demand for clean-label, organic, and other specialty products. The multi-line production facility is capable of dry blending, wet processing, and cooking liquids and pastes.

The plant is approved and running both FDA- and USDA-inspected products. Packaging capabilities include flexible pouches, jars, pails, drums, and totes to meet both retail consumer and bulk industrial needs. In addition to ambient-temperature warehouse facilities, the company offers abundant cooler and freezer space for all products it manufactures.

Mellecker adds, “This new facility provides seamless integration of our manufacturing capabilities with all our R&D, Culinary and Quality Assurance functions in a more customer-focused way.” JMH will consolidate its manufacturing into the new Salt Lake City facility, and maintain distribution centers in Salt Lake, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles.
